In order to properly diagnose these vehicles scanning tools will be required to scan the vehicle's computer for transmission codes, it will also monitor and record what is currently happening in order to determine the cause of failures. Ask the shop you are doing business with if they use these tools and if so, ask to observe the vehicle being diagnosed so you verify that a scanner is being used. If they do not use scanner tools, this can cost you a lot of money!
